Introduction
You may submit your photo via e-mail as an image attachment. Refer to your e-mail software "help" option for the proper procedure to send e-mail attachments. Please send the photo to obits@heraldnet.com.
Please keep in mind that you will be sending us a photo that needs to be in a proper format for a printed publication. While the photo may look perfectly acceptable on your computer monitor, output in the newspaper may look different. So, we have created these guidelines to assure the best quality for the printed newspaper.
You may submit your photo during regular business hours at our front counter location at 1213 California Street in Everett. Our office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
PHOTO SCANNING TIPS:
- Avoid photos with texture and avoid scanning computer printouts if possible.
- If the photo is color, don't convert it to black and white.
- Please don't do any corrections to the raw scanned photo. (We will do that here at The Herald)
- Scan at 300 dpi
- Send an image of the subject only. A minimum of 4 inches wide.
- Save in JPEG (.jpg) format.
